Graybridge Malkam is looking for a Pedagogical Advisor for the French Language Training Program. Reporting to the Language Program Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to provide coordination and supervision of the French Program.
Main responsibilities include the following:
- Assessing new students and placing them in appropriate groups, scheduling groups, and providing new student/group information to the teachers
- Assigning and scheduling teachers; teaching occasionally
- Organizing and/or delivering professional development sessions and workshops
- Observing instructors, making recommendations and offering appropriate professional development activities. Providing support to the teachers.
- Ensuring that course outlines and learning materials are in accordance with both the school’s teaching methodology and students’ learning needs
- Evaluation and improvement of content, programs and material
- Liaising with clients (confirmation of training, problem solving and quality control)
- Assessing the efficacy and value of the current program and implementing changes as necessary
- Contributing to the Graybridge Malkam community, including promoting diversity, intercultural communication, professionalism and lifelong learning
Qualifications:
- Excellent French language skills; proficiency in English
- Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, education, literary studies or another relevant field. If the degree was obtained abroad, a Canadian Equivalency is required.
- At least 2 year professional experience as a Pedagogical Advisor.
- A minimum of 4,000 hours of experience in teaching French as a second language to adults within the past 10 years
- Current knowledge of effective, evidence-based practices and emerging trends in teaching and learning (task-based teaching, communicative approach, flipped classroom, blended approach, etc.)
- Evidence of the ability to design, develop and present engaging workshops in a professional environment
- High level of administrative management experience, including planning, leadership, and analysis
- Strong written and oral communication skills and service-oriented approach
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with the management, faculty members, learners and administrative staff
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments and provide high quality, timely support
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of platforms like Teams, Zoom
